American Church at the Crossroads

It seems that now there is a kind of lull in the momentum of the church at large in America. For decades she has poured her efforts into achieving political power. It culminated in being raised to the mountaintop during the last four years, after electing a leader who promised power to the church, if only she would support him.

And support him she did, in spite of his obvious greed, unrepentant immorality, dragon-like words, and his demonization of others (particularly his mocking of the weak and the ‘least of these’ such as the poor, foreigners, and oppressed minorities). At first many may have had a pang of conscience, but rationalized it as necessary to bow down in order to achieve the goals they sought through political power.

They may have rationalized that he could be influenced and changed. That she could hold him accountable. But instead he remained the same, and the church had to bow down repeatedly as he demanded more and more support (and praise). Having sold her soul once was not enough. She had to sell it again and again. And having done that so many times, she found that she had put all of her hope in him. She made herself afraid with conspiracies and countless fears of what would happen if her immoral champion were not re-elected.

She taught support for him from her pulpits. She prayed for his will to be done. Her prophets prophesied his victory. She sanctified his place and his causes, such as the imprisonment and breaking apart of refugee families. She allied with enemies of Christ’s ways such as white supremacists.

When he stirred up undeniable violence, and her prophecies failed (even as she tried so hard to have faith in them and make them come true), she had to pause.

Now she is in a time of pausing, in a lull.

Now she is at a crossroads.

She has been on the broad, wide path of “the way of the world” instead of the narrow way of the Golden Rule, the way of Christ’s command of agape love—love one another, even enemies, as He loved us while we were His enemies.

Some among her are shaken by the failing of her prophecies. Many see the  predictions as the only wrong. Many are pausing only to regroup, to take stock only to ready themselves for continuing back on the broad road. To get back to “winning”—back to power. Back to victory over all who do not share in what she has devoted herself to: the desire to achieve her ends through power.

She stands at the crossroads. One way, the narrow way, beckons with a quiet voice of conscience, the Spirit and the gospel, calling her back to the way of the Cross. The other way is the broad way she has been marching on. The way of Barabbas and of Ahab.

Now she is in a place of unrest, having worked so hard and expended herself to achieve a place of rest through the pursuit of power and control. She does not have the rest for her soul which can only come through the way of Christ—following His commands of agape love. In His mercy God has frustrated her works, forcing her to pause so that she can hear Him implore her to return to His way—to pick up the cross and carry it.

The way of the Cross calls for repentance—repentance for having left the commands of Christ’s agape love, which led her to bowing down for power on the mountaintop.

Will she persist on the broad path, or choose the narrow way of agape love? Will she be baptized with repentance, or continue in her ways—in her journey away from the Way?

In the past God frustrated His people, for a little while, so that He could speak to them in a time when they had similarly been following the idols of their hearts instead of His commands:

“This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” (Jeremiah 6:16)

As it was in the days of Jeremiah, so it is for the church in America today. Should she continue on her course, devoted to her idols and to power, she will invite the consequences of her pursuit. When we seek and use power in the ways of the broad path (which wound multitudes), it will return on us when others fight in the same ways without mercy.

Many times in history God’s people have rejected His way, and He has allowed them to be humbled, often with great pain. In seeking power to avoid pain, to avoid repentance and carrying the cross, we don’t believe Him that His burden will actually be light and bring us rest for our souls. We don’t believe Him that the world will recognize that we belong to Him through His agape love alone. Instead we seek the crown and ride out of His presence—away from the throne of mercy—as conquerors bent on conquest. And sorrow and suffering follows in our wake.

I pray for her during this time of pause. I pray for her to choose the baptism of repentance and the way of the Cross.

Whether she does or not, as has always happened, I know that there will be a remnant who repent, who do not bow the knee to Baal, and who testify as witnesses of His grace and way agape love, dressed in the sackcloth garments of repentance for what we have done in His name to the nations at home and abroad.

I know Jeremiah and the prophets of old knew that, as well. But still as he did, I lament for the choices she has made and may likely still make. And I pray for her on this day to know what would bring peace.

For those who can see, this is what I hear now in the Spirit:

“Beloved,

My people are standing at the crossroads,

wanting to continue pursuing power,

but I have stopped them for a moment

so that some of them can awaken.

Beloved,

Pray for those at the crossroads,

for those who can still hear

the gentle voice of My Spirit

calling them to repentance.

Beloved,

Stand at the crossroads with Me:

cry out to them and for them;

remind them of My way;

call them back to their first love.

Beloved,

Carry My heart for My people

who have been walking away from Me,

for I love every one of them dearly,

and I want them to have rest in Me.

Beloved,

Stand at the crossroads

and weep with Me

for My beloved bride in America,

and for the peace of the nations.”

Grace in Tribulation

“When the storms come

and the floods rise,

when darkness thickens

and all grows cold,

through the midst of the clouds

and above the violent waves,

know that I will never leave you.

I will be a place of rest

when all else is shadow.

I will be a light for you

when all else is veiled in the world.

Find peace in the spirit of grace

that you know in My Son.

Remember the words I spoke

when He went through the waters:

‘You are My beloved,

I am well-pleased with You.’

As the darkness increases in your world,

know that through this baptism

I am with you always, My beloved,

and I am well-pleased with you.”

“Call Out the False”

“Can you see, My prophets?

The signs I spoke of

follow the rising of false prophecy

established on the rebellion

and apostasy among My people.

You who can see,

you who can hear,

you who know My love for all,

you who love My Son and His blood,

speak when I ask you to.

Testify when I tell you to,

of what is true and what is false,

of what I have shown you,

of the breaking of My heart

for My people being led astray.

Speak to My people

and the prophets of Baal.

My word will be as a fire to them,

but will be as water to the thirsty.

Do not be afraid, for I am with you.”

“Call to the Wavering”

“My beloved, My prophets:

I know that sometimes you are tired

and you feel worn out.

I know that speaking

what I give you to say

makes you feel naked and exposed.

I know that sometimes

you wish you could not see—

the signs that are happening,

the love of My people growing cold,

the setting of the sun on the world.

I have given you prophetic vision—

ears to hear My heartbeat,

eyes to see as Noah did

when the rain began to fall

and people did not recognize it.

I have shown you the rising waters,

the dimming of agape love in churches,

the rocks crying out with mercy outside,

the faith that still lives in many,

and the Day of judgment that is coming.

I have called you to speak to My people

as they waver in the end times

between eating from the two trees of Eden—

one grasped for greatness and judgment,

and one only allowed by mercy and grace.

I have called you to prophesy

to My people who cannot see

that they are caught in the last days

between their desire for power

and their desire for the Cross.

I have called you, My prophets

who can still hear My heart of agape love

to call out to the precious faith

that still lives in My people,

to tell them that the fire of testing is coming.

All that is not agape love,

all that is not grace and mercy,

all that is not My Son

—the Word that endures forever—

will be consumed by the fire.

As in the days of Noah

and the days of Jeremiah,

I am calling you and sending you

to testify and call to repentance

My people who cannot see.”

The City of Babylon

“Can you see, beloved,

the city My children have made?

Can you see the conversion

of the church into a temple

of rebellion against My Son’s commands?

Can you see the great edifice

that they have built

in their unity against My law?

Can you see the nation they founded

to replace My kingdom in the earth,

the ‘city on a hill’ to shine

their own light instead of My Son’s?

Can you see the tower of their freedom,

their memorial of their righteousness,

taking their freedom by violence

instead of being set free

by the truth of My Son?

Can you see the peace and unity

they strive to achieve in lawlessness

instead of the Strong Tower

of My Son and His ways?

Can you see Babel, My beloved,

the city on seven hills

where My Son was crucified?

The sun is setting on her,

on her prosperity

and her violence.

Night is coming.

Return, My people!

Return to My Son and His ways!

Return from Babylon and her wealth,

and choose the way of the Cross!

Stay in the ways of My Son,

the way of agape love

to the end.”

Note about the painting: I received this picture at the end of last August and began a sketch of it, but did not have the strength to paint it at the time, as I was still on hiatus from prophetic due to the crisis in my personal life. But on New Year’s Day this year I was called to prophesy again, and He brought me back to this picture He gave, and I was able to paint it.

The Turning Away

“Why are you marching, beloved?

Why are you shouting?

Why are you rioting?

Why are you leaving the love of My Son?

Why do you call Him ‘Lord’

but reject the way He taught you?

Do not turn away from the world

that I loved so much and gave My Son for.

Do not plot violence against them

or keep violence in your hearts.

Do not leave My heart, beloved.

Do not leave the Spirit of My Son.”

Note about the painting: I was moved to paint this on the evening of New Year’s Day, 2021, and only realized the similarity and parallels to the riot at the U.S. Capitol some days afterward. The word accompanying the picture, however, was written today.

“Speak Again in the Darkness”

“Beloved, I am with you,

and I have been with you at every step.

I have been with you in the darkness,

and I have been with you in the light.

I have been with you in your aches,

and I have been with you

when you could not release your tears.

I have been with you in your doubts,

and I have been with you in your fears.

I am healing you and making you whole.

I have been with you in mourning.

I will turn your darkness into light,

and show you grace and redemption

in the places of wounding and shame.

You will wear the scars of your grief

and know them as stories of My love

and My redemption for you and your family.

Beloved, I am calling you again to speak,

to take the scroll I am giving you

and unsealing before you.

Night has been coming

and the Day is approaching.

My people need light in the darkness.

I will use your testimony of My Son

—My very heart—

to speak light in the darkness.

Do not be afraid of what you fear

is darkness inside of you.

Do not be afraid of what others say,

but find your refuge in My Son,

in My love for you and for them.

Never will I forsake you.

Never will I leave you, My beloved.”

Update about myself and this site:

Because of a difficult personal and family situation, I needed to take a break from prophesying, and I took this site offline for what turned out to be several years. But now I’m being moved to prophesy again, and was led to open the site back up today. I note it has been four years to the day since I last posted a prophetic word here. What follows is a picture He gave me on New Year’s Day, and a word for me that I pray also blesses whoever reads.

P.S. The markings on my face in the painting are Día de muertos, representing the Mexican side of my heritage, which I’ve come to learn more about during the past few years, and have painted a project about for my family.
