"If My people cannot understand
that My kingdom is not a land of this world,
how can they keep their swords in their place?
"If My people cannot love their enemies
as I loved you while you were My enemies,
how can they avoid becoming enemies of the Cross?
"If My people cannot extend their love
to the guilty as well as to the innocent,
how can they profess to be My disciples?
"If My people cannot discern the spirit of things
but count external success and prosperity as My approval,
how can they hear My Spirit speaking in the end times?
"If My people look to earthly authorities
to establish and prepare the way for My kingdom,
how will they not follow after the beast?"
